It's Certainly That Time Again

Go hunting across the internet (aka the Links page on the 25:17 site to find the BRAND NEW SONG! It's only 12:06 right now, so it's not up/processed every where yet, but by the time you read this, it probably will be.

It can be found at Facebook, MySpace, Reverbnation, Purevolume, Unsigned, iLike, and Sound Click. Or hell, even here which leads to a Hi Def MP3 download!

So yes, enjoy, for that is all until February 23rd. Tell every one!

Friday Is Usually A Good Night, Right?

So I have decided on a song and a time. What the hell do I mean? Well if you read the blogs you'll know I planned on releasing one more song before releasing the entire Reborn CD on February 23rd.

The song: just wait and listen I suppose...
The time: Friday, January 23rd.

So yes, new song on the way for your listening pleasure. I'm liking the new shit a lot, and hopefully you will to. Also, shows will be announced soon, and by soon, I mean within the next month to month and a half (hopefully).

Okay, so now you know of the new song, and I will be reminding you as the time comes. Be ready!

Something is going to happen

For the last few days I feel like I'm slacking in music, when really I'm not. I think it's something inside of me telling me to write more, I feel like I want to. So I have a feeling I'm going to have an onslaught of music within the next few months. It might not all be 25:17, but chances are some of it will.

As for Reborn, things are coming nicely. I'll probably post up a new song within the next 10 days or so. Then remember 2.23.09.

Okay, that's all I felt I needed to say. Now go back to what ever it was you were doing.

Mark your calendarsm kiddies. Also, a special request.

So I have now reached an official date to have "Reborn" out on the interwebbingnet.

Monday, February 23rd, 2009.

I could release at any point during the day, so keep checking back, or keep an eye out for a new blog post (if you're subscribed to them like good girls and boys...
*COUGH*http://twenty57teen.blogspot.com*COUGH*...) Oh, I'm sorry, must be getting that cold that's going around.

But yes, Reborn will finally be finished up by then and on your computer. It will all be released in High Definition audio (I'm trying to work on something better than 320kbps, but without any money, it's hard to pay for such privilages). I'm also trying my hand at FLAC encoding to those of you who are really into hi def audio and know what FLAC even is.

So again, 2.23.09, Feb 23rd, 2009, Monday February 23rd, 2009... how ever you mark it, MARK IT!

Okay, so now that the Reborn part is out of the way, I must get onto part two of this blog.

So, you may have realised that I'm not all that good with graphics and art for music and stuff. I'm looking for someone who might want to help out in the art direction for 25:17 (It's a non paying job, but it's the creativity that matters). I would like someone that is good with art (and/or) digital art and photo shop to help me on upcoming projects and other fun little things I can attempt. It would also be a bonus if you're good with web design, if not, I can find some one else for that matter. AND ALSO, is any one interested in some possible photo shoot help? Not all professional stuff and what not, but more just shots I can use to put on the site and 25:17 facebook and myspace. My idea for the photography kind of follows the style of Rob Sheridan (http://www.rob-sheridan.com/). I know, I know... Rob is the art director for NIN, I know. But hey, I love his style of photography, and I'm looking for some one with some what of the same eye (again, it's not a paying job, and I'd want to work with someone who wants to do it for the sake of creativity and passion rather than money).

So to sum up what I just said in a short couple of sentences:
WANTED:
- 1 Assistant Art Director (Good at digital art/photo shop)
- 1 Photographer (Kind of Rob Sheridan style)
- 1 Web Page Designer

Think you fit any of this? Email me at twenty5.7teen@hotmail.com or twenty5.7teen@gmail.com about it. Again, THIS IS NOT A PAYING JOB, I want some one who just loves the creativity in it, cause I have some fairly exciting ideas up my sleeve for the future, and an art director and digital artist would be awsome to have.

OKAY, now I'm done. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go work on Reborn some more.

Sure, why not

So I've done some thinking about the enw stuff. It's still roughly a month away from it's release date (with a date I still haven't determined), so I decided "sure, why not". Some time in the next couple of weeks, I will release one more track before releasing the entire CD onto the net. I know which song it will be, but I'm not all of sure when I will release it. Some time before the 22nd for sure though. Because after I am done doing the final mixing/mastering for the song, that's when I will post a date for posting the song on the net. And speaking of mixing/mastering, after this song, I only have 1 song left to finish recording/mixing/mastering for, then it's ALL DONE!

That's the beauty of digital download... with physical cd release, you have to wait like a while after finishing the CD to release, with digital, I could finish it the day before release and all would be well, bwahahaha. But I wont leave it last minute. After I've done everything, I will give the master copy one final go through for any missed errors, and then off to your ipods/itunes/mp3's/cds/what ever you decide to listen to it on it goes!

Well, I was just taking a small break from mixing to write this since the idea popped into my head. So I guess it's back to work.

28.12.08

2008, what a difference.

I've been looking back on 2008, and compared it to 2007 when it comes to 25:17 and anything that I do musically in general. First of all, you'll realise that 2008 was a quiet year for 25:17...

Earlier in the year I had mentioned that I would be releasing a cluster of songs at different times under the name 25:17: 1 (and then 2 through how ever many I released). At the time it seemed like a good idea, and I may decide to try something like that again in 2009, but you never know I suppose. Regardless, that "cluster fuck" was nothing but a fuck seeing as nothing was released. I think I released one song and then scrapped everything... I had 7 songs, 6 with no lyrics. After I had scrapped that, I decided to scrap the weak attempt Infinity. To those of you who don't follow/know, Infinity was a 14 song CD I released in May of 2007. It had like 2 good songs and the rest just didn't fit to what I really wanted to make, so I scrapped that. Then at that point, I decided to scrap the even weaker attempt of a project called The Linger. To those of you who don't know/follow, The Linger was an epic fail from the word "go". Nothing on that CD even sparked a sense of interest for me, meaning I didn't like what I heard at all, it was only about a million fucking miles from what I really wanted to write and record. So I scrapped that without any hesitation. After scrapping all 3 CDs, I unofficially decided to scrap 25:17 altogether. I was feeling uninspired, and at a loss for any creative sway. So I took some times to work on my acoustic project I made this year entitled Naut, but I'll get to that shortly.

As I said, I unofficially scrapped 25:17, until about early july. When I started playing around with some ideas and constructing music so it could be performed by only myself live, I decided to take the one man band route. By august after about 38 days of playing with different tones and sounds, I ended up writing Amenance. A song that for the first time in a while, I didn't have a problem with. It was a song that I have really been looking to write for a long time now. So knowing where to keep my head, I began writing more and more to see where it would take me, eventually leading to the idea for "Reborn". I was going to make a very creative and interactive way of presenting the music to the people who wanted to ehar it, but there was a huge lack of interest, so I scrapped the idea, and decided to just release it seeing as no one really cared enough. With all the writing I've been doing since august, I've noticed a big improvment in everything and finally found where I am most comfortable. So after a very quiet 2008, I am more than prepared to jump into 2009 with a fresh new 25:17. The year will start with me finishing up what is left of Reborn, and then the release to follow in mid February, and then a special little something that may or may not be coming out in April. It's still in testing, so it may take a while. Also, I hope to start playing shows within the next couple of months. (Hey, if you're in a band, and have an opening slot, email me twenty5.7teen@hotmail.com or twenty5.7teen@gmail.com ... trust me, I'm looking to fill some slots if at all possible). After that, I have a few more projects up my sleeve.

First off, there is Naut. Naut is the acoustic project I started in February 2008. It was a some what mediocre attempt at acoustic music that didn't quite fit the idea of 25:17. I don't really have a problem with the music I was making for Naut, but it lacked creativity. So for April 2009 or so, I'm gonna start writing again try and get that good inspiration for me going as I did for 25:17. I hope to have something new for Naut by mid 2009, possibly earlier.

Second, my friend Shane and I have begun an electro, experimental jam band called "Adrian". It consists of me on electronic and programming, and him on Electric bass, Double bass, guitar, (auxilary)percussion, and what ever he gets his hands on. We're on and off with this project, but we have started writing a song. Nothing is serious as of yet, but we'lls ee where 2009 takes us.

Lastly, my girl friend Allison and I have started a dance electro band called "Lesbians". Now, nothing has yet picked up for Lesbians yet, mainly because I'm focusing strongly on 25:17 for now, but by march 2009 or so, we should be starting writing and recording. You will be updated on all of those bands.

And of course, as I've mentioned for 25:17, I'm still in the process of finishing Reborn for it's mid february debut. What does 2009 officially hold for 25:17? Well, Reborn, Shows, special treat in spring, and after that I don't know. With the other projects I will be working on, I will probably keep 25:17 quiet temporarily, but probably start writing again by summer or something. Perhaps going with that cluster idea I had mentioned earlier... but it's hard to make predictions now, but there will definatly be something going on in '09, so no worries.

*Takes deep breath*, damn. This has been a long blog.

Anyways, overall, 25:17 is being reborn, all the old music is gone, as wella s the old ideas. 2009 will be a good year, and by this time next eyar, I hope there will be more than 13 people reading this blog (though there is nothing wrong with you 13, you're all awsome).

This is the last update for 2008. I'm gonna go now, maybe work on some music, maybe relax, what ever. I guess I'll see you next year. Havea good new year, see you all soon.

All the best,
Kris.
