2008, what a difference.

I've been looking back on 2008, and compared it to 2007 when it comes to 25:17 and anything that I do musically in general. First of all, you'll realise that 2008 was a quiet year for 25:17...

Earlier in the year I had mentioned that I would be releasing a cluster of songs at different times under the name 25:17: 1 (and then 2 through how ever many I released). At the time it seemed like a good idea, and I may decide to try something like that again in 2009, but you never know I suppose. Regardless, that "cluster fuck" was nothing but a fuck seeing as nothing was released. I think I released one song and then scrapped everything... I had 7 songs, 6 with no lyrics. After I had scrapped that, I decided to scrap the weak attempt Infinity. To those of you who don't follow/know, Infinity was a 14 song CD I released in May of 2007. It had like 2 good songs and the rest just didn't fit to what I really wanted to make, so I scrapped that. Then at that point, I decided to scrap the even weaker attempt of a project called The Linger. To those of you who don't know/follow, The Linger was an epic fail from the word "go". Nothing on that CD even sparked a sense of interest for me, meaning I didn't like what I heard at all, it was only about a million fucking miles from what I really wanted to write and record. So I scrapped that without any hesitation. After scrapping all 3 CDs, I unofficially decided to scrap 25:17 altogether. I was feeling uninspired, and at a loss for any creative sway. So I took some times to work on my acoustic project I made this year entitled Naut, but I'll get to that shortly.

As I said, I unofficially scrapped 25:17, until about early july. When I started playing around with some ideas and constructing music so it could be performed by only myself live, I decided to take the one man band route. By august after about 38 days of playing with different tones and sounds, I ended up writing Amenance. A song that for the first time in a while, I didn't have a problem with. It was a song that I have really been looking to write for a long time now. So knowing where to keep my head, I began writing more and more to see where it would take me, eventually leading to the idea for "Reborn". I was going to make a very creative and interactive way of presenting the music to the people who wanted to ehar it, but there was a huge lack of interest, so I scrapped the idea, and decided to just release it seeing as no one really cared enough. With all the writing I've been doing since august, I've noticed a big improvment in everything and finally found where I am most comfortable. So after a very quiet 2008, I am more than prepared to jump into 2009 with a fresh new 25:17. The year will start with me finishing up what is left of Reborn, and then the release to follow in mid February, and then a special little something that may or may not be coming out in April. It's still in testing, so it may take a while. Also, I hope to start playing shows within the next couple of months. (Hey, if you're in a band, and have an opening slot, email me twenty5.7teen@hotmail.com or twenty5.7teen@gmail.com ... trust me, I'm looking to fill some slots if at all possible). After that, I have a few more projects up my sleeve.

First off, there is Naut. Naut is the acoustic project I started in February 2008. It was a some what mediocre attempt at acoustic music that didn't quite fit the idea of 25:17. I don't really have a problem with the music I was making for Naut, but it lacked creativity. So for April 2009 or so, I'm gonna start writing again try and get that good inspiration for me going as I did for 25:17. I hope to have something new for Naut by mid 2009, possibly earlier.

Second, my friend Shane and I have begun an electro, experimental jam band called "Adrian". It consists of me on electronic and programming, and him on Electric bass, Double bass, guitar, (auxilary)percussion, and what ever he gets his hands on. We're on and off with this project, but we have started writing a song. Nothing is serious as of yet, but we'lls ee where 2009 takes us.

Lastly, my girl friend Allison and I have started a dance electro band called "Lesbians". Now, nothing has yet picked up for Lesbians yet, mainly because I'm focusing strongly on 25:17 for now, but by march 2009 or so, we should be starting writing and recording. You will be updated on all of those bands.

And of course, as I've mentioned for 25:17, I'm still in the process of finishing Reborn for it's mid february debut. What does 2009 officially hold for 25:17? Well, Reborn, Shows, special treat in spring, and after that I don't know. With the other projects I will be working on, I will probably keep 25:17 quiet temporarily, but probably start writing again by summer or something. Perhaps going with that cluster idea I had mentioned earlier... but it's hard to make predictions now, but there will definatly be something going on in '09, so no worries.

*Takes deep breath*, damn. This has been a long blog.

Anyways, overall, 25:17 is being reborn, all the old music is gone, as wella s the old ideas. 2009 will be a good year, and by this time next eyar, I hope there will be more than 13 people reading this blog (though there is nothing wrong with you 13, you're all awsome).

This is the last update for 2008. I'm gonna go now, maybe work on some music, maybe relax, what ever. I guess I'll see you next year. Havea good new year, see you all soon.

All the best,
Kris.

Hi Def; It's what's for christmas

I just thought I'd mention that on the mutimedia page, I've added both songs (amenance and haunted) mp3 downloads... these are High Definition downloads. 320 kbps.

The other sites that have the songs on it can't hold the hi def versions (since they're each over 9 MBs)...so downlaod the ones on this site and you have the Hi Def MP3s... just incase you were interested.

You really wanna be cool?

So I decided to go hunting for a bunch of websites I signed up for within the last year or 2. Try to update them all at once sucks and is repeatative. But anyways, I was on my reverbnation page and saw there was a street team. So I guess I could put this to use in some form or another.

http://miles.reverbnation.com/twenty57teen#tab=street_team

Click that link (or copy and paste it into your browser) and become a street team member of 25:17... it's free. Also, I've been on a street team before, and it's pretty fun. Very interactive. So yeah, do your part in helping me out. Because apparently I suck at telling people stuff.

P.S.If the link doesn;'t work, just go to Reverb Nation and type 25:17 in the search bar... you can get it from there to.

It'll be on my podcast, in literally minutes

December 5th, 2008

At the exact moment of me typing this, my newest podcast is being uploaded onto the internet. You know what that means? (If not, you haven't been paying attention). That's right, the new 25:17 song is on that podcast,a nd I guess I can tell you now, it's "Haunted".So as of this very minute, it is available on http://2517.mypodcast.com/!

And as of tomorrow (Saturday December 6th) at 12pm, it will be available on all the music pages (I'll post links tomorrow... that or go to the links page on this site). It will be available for free download/streaming, high quality MP3 (320 kbps, 24 bit rate, 44.1kHz).The album will pretty much be the same as well. As well as... another little thing I'm working on for Reborn, but we don't worry about that until April/May. You'll see, soon. (Reborn is still being released in February, so no worries there)

Almost Here

December 4th, 2008

I have the funniest idea that I'm probably more excited for this than anyone else. But regardless, the new song will be making its debut within 48 hours! So be sure to go to http://2517.mypodcast.com/ to hear the podcast and the new song of course.

I suppose I'll explain a bit about the song before it's released.

Yes, it's another dark, calm, kind of song. Kind of like a mix of Me I'm Not and The Greater Good by NIN. The vocals are more aggressive than Amenance though, so don't worry. Also, Not every song on the cd is a dark and ominous one, so don't be mislead. But I really like how this song turned out and I hope you will to. I'll probably post again on friday to remind everyone.

3 More Days

Decemeber 3rd, 2008

The time is getting much closer now. This friday will be the debut of a new song. It will make its debut on the 25:17 podcast as I had already mentioned. Currently, I am taking a break from adding the final touches to the new track, but no worries, it will be good and ready for friday. Also, if you can't listen to the debut on friday night, be sure to check the facebook page, or the myspace page, or even the ilike page to hear the new song. I'll debut it on Saturday afternoon or evening on those sites.

As for the album, I have mentioned a few times a January - February release. I still stand by that, but I'm leaning more towards February. I have to make sure everything renders properly seeing as I'm rendering these into Hi-def MP3s. (The highest quality 320 kBits Stereo MP3s. That's as high as I can render for now). Of course there will be much more news to come about the album, but for now, be ready for the new single to bereleased and debuted on 25:17 radio on friday. So go to http://2517.mypodcast.com/, subscribe, and it should automatically pop up into your itunes eventually (make sure you have your podcast settings set to update and refresh every hour so you get it quicker). Or if you dont have iTunes, there are other options, just check to site to see which one suits you best.

One More Week

November 28th, 2008

Just a reminder, next friday (probably saturday by the time you hear it), and new 25:17 track will be making its debut. Be sure to subscribe/listen in to find out which one it is!More news to come soon.

New Stuff Coming

November 25th, 2008

Okay, so I figured I should go ahead and mention that on December 5th on my 25:17 podcast, I will be debuting a new song. Which one? Well I'll let you listen and find out. Also, I will be posting it on Facebook, Myspace, iLike and Jamilton the day after. So be sure to subscribe to the podcast and listen on December 5th (or 6th) for the new song! Also, as for Reborn, I'm aiming for a release between mid January and mid February. With the release of this EP, I'm also going to be working on shows. I just have to set a few things up since I'm performing on my own, so it will take some patience, but I'll get around to it around time of release.

26.9.08

Now everything is starting

So as of September 21st, things are starting to happen over at www.2517.mfbiz.com . Almost as fast as it was posted, the first song has been found. It is Amenance. So with it being found, I have posted it on various sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and a few other accounts I'm setting up. So good job on finding the first one, as more things start happening, it will become much more interactive and fun. So be ready.
